Domingo-Sábado - Lunes - Martes - Miércoles Sábado - Domingo (junio 22-23) Opening plenary session informs, inspires, and entertains Early arrivals at the Opening Plenary Session, Sunday, 23 June, in the Palau Jordi will be treated to A Mediterranean Feast, featuring performances by an exciting array of local and regional musicians, dancers, acrobats, stilt-walkers, and much more. The traditional and always inspirational ceremony presenting all the flags of the Rotary world will open the session. A highlight of the first plenary session will be RI President Richard D. King's address to the convention, followed by a "Mankind Is Our Business" video presentation celebrating the good work of Rotarians worldwide. The president also will present the Rotary Award of Honor to American entertainer Jerry Lewis for his humanitarian work on behalf of children. The session will close with a performance by the Luis Cobos Orchestra. Cobos is an innovative classical musician widely known throughout the Spanish-speaking world.
